Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2019
The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize, formerly known as the Jerwood Drawing Prize, is the longest-standing prize for drawing in the UK. I am delighted to have been selected for the 2019 exhibition with a cheeky little study of a baby in a hazmat suit in charcoal on canvas.
The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2019 exhibition includes 67 drawings by 62 practitioners which were selected from 1,801 submissions received from across the UK by a panel comprising Chantal Joffe RA, artist; Andrew Nairne, Director of Kettle’s Yard, University of Cambridge; and Dorothy Price, Professor of History of Art at the University of Bristol.

Congratulations to all the wonderful 2019 prize winners : First Prize Alice Motte-Muñoz for her drawing, Reverie. Second Prize Shelly Tregoning for her drawing, Distracted, Distracted. Student Award went to Philip Battley for his drawing, Stand. The Working Drawing prize went to Jeanette Barnes for her drawing Study for Cable Cars – New York and The Evelyn Williams Drawing Award was awarded to Penny McCarthy for her drawings DNA in Nature and Photo 51 and her proposal for the Award.
