Doodles 2019 - 2020
Drawing is always my starting point. I draw when I want to get to the underside of things; to excavate back in search of what I don’t yet know. I have an AS brain without filters, therefore I need to find ways to buffer sensory and information overload. For me drawing is revelatory, a process of recognition, a visual dérive; drifting through the unconscious to connect the metamemorial dots. I draw over and over because repetition frees the hand and allows the image to become porous. Sometimes these doodles become triggers for new paintings
